Event description:
AI systems are now more-or-less autonomously solving some interesting open problems, resulting in an abundance of PDFs. This presents a problem for our profession, which was already bottlenecked by our ability to understand one another’s work even prior to AI. I’ll survey the recent history of AI and math, discuss some experiments using AI tools non-autonomously, and speculate a bit about the future.
